I am so excited to introduce myself to you as a birthworker and childcare specialist in the NYC community. A born and bred Virginian and an empath by nature, I come from a large family and have always enjoyed being around children and babies. My mother loved being pregnant, but to me, childbirth and postpartum seemed like the big unknown, full of anxiety and worry. So many young women I know have shared their birth stories, miscarriages, feminine health issues, etc., and I’m shocked by the poor care (or lack thereof) they received. I knew what I needed to do to help those in my community. This was my call to doula work. As your doula, I will strive to create the personalized care you need during the postpartum transition. A one hour prenatal planning session to determine your postpartum support plan 4 hour visits consisting of postnatal care for parents and newborn, lactation support and infant feeding, older sibling care, light housework, and cooking/meal prep Emotional support for new parents, i.e. unpacking birth story if necessary Access to evidence-based information and postnatal resources Referrals to other professionals within the community, as needed including a pelvic floor specialist, lactation consultant, infant sleep specialist, etc. Sibling Doula Care: A care package consisting of either 16 or 24 hours while parents are in hospital Additional hours outside of package will be billed separately Due to the on-call nature of this job, I require one-two hours notice before coming to your home A one to two hour prenatal meeting to meet siblings and establish trust and connection.
